Delete my data

Vaulco follows the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principle 11.2 — you can request deletion of your data at any time, no questions asked.

The fast way (logged-in users)

If you have an active Vaulco account, the quickest path is in-app:

  1. Sign in to Vaulco
  2. Settings → Data → Delete account
  3. Confirm — your account is queued for deletion immediately

Data is purged within 30 days. Records the ATO requires us to retain (lodged BAS / STP) are kept for 5 years per ATO record-keeping rules; everything else goes.

We'll verify the request via the email address on the account, then complete deletion within 30 days. We acknowledge requests within 2 business days.

Send deletion request

This opens your email client with a pre-filled message to hello@vaulco.com.au. You can also email us directly at hello@vaulco.com.au — just include your account email and what you want deleted.

Service-level commitments

  • Within 2 business days: we acknowledge your request
  • Within 30 days: data is purged from our active database
  • Within 60 days: data is purged from rolling backups (backups expire on a 30-day cycle)

What we have to keep

By Australian law, we must retain the following even after a deletion request:

  • Records you have lodged with the ATO (BAS, STP) — 5 years per ATO record-keeping requirements
  • Stripe payment records — 7 years per ASIC / tax law
  • Audit log entries that include only metadata (timestamps, action types) — no content

Everything else is purged.

You can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. We'd rather sort it out directly first — email hello@vaulco.com.au.
